System for field
Pentacom Systems, Ltd, has the agency for one of the latest developments in the world of technology — the Micropalm PC 5000. This is a MSDOS compatible hand-held computer. The Micro Palm computer will do anything a PC can do. It is designed for people who work out in the field, for example meter readers, surveyors or salesmen.
A programme can be developed on a PC, then downloaded directly on to the battery-backed up memory on the hand-held PC.
The main programme can be either accessed by portable modem or cell phone or else the work can be downloaded back into it at the end of the job. It can also be connected to a miniature printer and provide hardcopy data while in the field.
