The cruise line that’s replacing the ferries. Last April, Searail Ferries became The Interisland Line and the return of the Arahanga saw the first of our three ships sporting a flash new white lively. Since then we’ve been hard at work on the second Interislander and today she’s berthed in Lyttelton on her way to Wellington, after a total upgrade. Underneath the Arahura’s swish white exterior, with its green and blue dolphin emblem, a major transformation has taken place. You’ll find two new bars. A quite different restaurant. A fast food outlet, and even a cinema. There’s a long list of new features, with something for everyone from babes (a fun new play area) to businessmen (a serious new conference facility). So much has changed aboard the Arahura that you probably wouldn’t believe it unless you came and saw for yourself. If you’re thinking of doing just that, she’ll be down at Lyttelton harbour today. The Arahura’s the big white ship, (in case you didn’t recognise her and thought it was some foreign cruiseliner). lnterislander
