Modern technology utilised

Wilder Transport, Ltd, makes extensive use of modern technology in an effort to provide the best service for its clients. A comprehensive computer facility is available to process stock transactions for various clients. “This provides clients with various management reports necessary to maintain their business efficiency,” says Bruce Abel, the administration manager for Wilder Transport. “The client writes out an order and, prior to going out to the store, it is processed before the order is made up and delivered. As a consequence, we can advise a

client at any time what stock remains in our managed warehouse. “Our accounting system is also computerised giving us a totally intigrated picture of what is happening. About 130,000 client invoices are processed each year. “According to Telecom, our new telephone system is the ‘Rolls Royce’ of telephone systems. It allows us to effectively handle calls, not only for Wilder Transport, but also for the many and varied clients who rent office space from us,” Mr Abel says. An interesting feature of the telephone facility is the TABS (telephone

accounting and billing system), which monitors each incoming and outgoing call allowing the charge to be identified

with the correct client or caller. TABS works in conjunction with a computer screen which provides a

complete telephone information service including the number of calls made, the date, time and the extension number.
