Room at heart of operations
The nerve centre of Wilder Transport, Ltd, is the operations room from which the entire South Island vehicle fleet is monitored. The operations room is able to keep in radio contact with all drivers of vehicles using both local and long-distant telecom Networks. “Our operations centre also devetails vehicle movements; local delivery, pickup and line-haui operations with the incoming and outgoing freight from the distribution centre. “Service is paramount
for our clients. With our operations facilities we know exactly when a vehicle will arrive in the depot for unloading and loading. “This means that we can consolidate loads and have them waiting. This saves time which in turn means less costs for ourselves as well as out clients. “The operations room is ideally located to provide an over-all view of our complex from the refuelling “truck stop” through to our arrival and departure areas,” Mr Abel says.
