Canterbury wins squash contest

Canterbury was untroubled to win the annual triangular squash contest with Midlands and Southern Districts in Timaru at the week-end. In fact, the team dropped merely five individual contests in crunching Midlands, 22-2 and Southern, 21-3 to retain both the Barry Gardiner Trophy and the Viv Hargreaves Shield. Among the men, Michael Penman, Paul McFadzien, Robbie Clark and Greg Peacock were all unbeaten while the Canterbury women with perfect records were Justine Marriott, Freda Walker, Leonie Ward and their manager, Ann Harliwich.
