Asbestos unhealthy address
PA Sydney Residents of Asbestos Street in Brisbane are sick of their unhealthysounding address. When the Kings Park housing estate was built 15 years ago, and the dangers of asbestos were not recognised, all the streets were named after minerals.
The estate manager, Ron Wilson, said houses in Asbestos Street always took longer to sell than others on the estate, and then sold for sAustBooo ($10,200) less than the rest.
The Brisbane City Council has received a petition from Asbestos Street residents requesting the street’s name be changed to Malachite.
