Curtins with receiver
Curtins Farm Ltd are the second major standardbred breeding concern to go into receivership in the last four months. The partners of Curtins Farm, John Curtin, his sister, Eleanor, and Dan McGill, have decided to place the company into voluntary liquidation after months of fruitless attempts to restructure. Curtins Farm, formed in 1985, was one of the standardbred studs hardest hit by the E.V.A. (equine viral arteritis) restrictions imposed on the importation of stallions from North America last year. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back, .said John Curtin. “At the end of the day I only hope people will remember Curtins Farm for the many positive aspects which we brought to the standardbred industry,” he said. Harness World Bloodstock is the other concern to go into receivership since the end of April.
