Mr Andrew Eszes, pictured with his Porsche 911, bought the number “1” plates on the recommendation of his accountant at an auction, and earlier this month was offered $60,000 for them. Mr Eszes, who runs a restaurant in Auckland, said he bought the “1” plates on a spur of the moment decision.” He also bought the “911” plates for his Porsche, for $2750.
