Look of the Year
THE SIX finalists in the Press Fashion Look of the Year Model Search have been chosen by Ursula Hufnagel, of Ursula’s Model Management in Sydney, the chief judge of the competition. All six win a prize package including a nail-care kit from Revlon, hair-care products from Spenser L. Ayrey, fashion sunglasses by Jonathon Sceats, perfume by L’Oreal, Silx pantyhose and Intrigue lingerie by Lane Walker Rudkin and flowers from Court Florist. The winner will be chosen at a luncheon in the Waitangi Room at Noahs Hotel on Thursday, August 10, and will fly to Paris in September for the international final of Look of the Year. The judges selecting the New Zealand winner next week will be Ursula Hufnagel, an international model, Kirsteen Price, the event’s New Zealand co-ordinator, Maree Pannell, and the managing director of Spenser L. Ayrey, Garry Harris. The finalists will casually parade around the tables, each wearing an outfit from some of Canterbury’s top fashion designers — Barbara Lee, Robert Gormack, Rosaria Hall, Caroline Mall, Brigid Brock and Ingrid Brook. The winner will take an outfit by. her designer to Paris to be photographed for the cover of “Press Fashion” in October. She will also feature on the cover in September. Apart from her finalists’ prize package and an all-expenses-paid return trip to Paris, the winner of the “Press Fashion” Look of the Year Model Search will be eligible for important modelling contracts, with the eyes of the international model agencies upon' her. The international winner will receive a contract with the Elite model agency of New York, the world’s largest model agency for editorial bookings. Bookings for the luncheon can be made through Noahs Hotel.
