Muslim leader captured
NZPA-Reuter Jerusalem An Israeli commando unit swept into a Lebanese village overnight in a helicopter and captured a radical Muslim Shi’ite leader, Israel Radio said.
It said the elite unit broke into the house of Sheikh Abdel Kareem Obeid of the pro-Iranian Hizbollah (Party of God), killed his bodyguard using pistols with silencers and escaped in the helicopter.
There was no immediate official comment on the raid in which the radio said two other people were captured. The raid took place in Jibsheet village north of an Israeli-declared security She, the radio said
