Ewe lifted to safety
Firemen were called to lift a pregiiant ewe out of a stormwater drain in North Beach yesterday. Members of the New Brighton Volunteer Brigade took 15 minutes to hoist the sheep, which had been in the Barkers Road ditch for about eight hours. The animal was almost dead from the cold and was last evening being nursed back to health. The,, firemen used a hose ’ty lift the ewe.
