Three dead, four hurt in crash

Three people died and four others were seriously hurt in a car accident near Oxford last evening. The two-car collision at the intersection of Tram Road and Poyntz Road occurred after 9 p.m. The names of the victims, believed to be aged between 16 and 28, were unavailable last evening. Next of kin were being told.
Three ambulances, two from Rangiora and one from Christ-
church, took the injured to Christchurch Hospital. One woman had serious internal injuries and a man suffered a broken pelvis. The other two injured, a man and woman, suffered moderate to serious multiple injuries. A man and woman died in one' car; a man in_ the other. Two Oxford Teenagers died in an accident at the same intersection in March last year when their van and a logging truck collided. Picture, page 9
