No gain — students
Tertiary students do not stand to gain anything from the Budget, says the New Zealand University Students’ Association president, Mr Andrew Little. While the Government had made much of an extra $77 million being provided in tertiary
grants, this merely reflected the increase in student rolls, said Mr Little.
He said the Budget did not improve the position of students, and, in fact, appeared to confirm the plan to increase ’ fees next year.
