Travel possible for Sir Fleet
The Manorshire studmaster, Bob Moriarty, is prepared to travel Sir Fleet this season if it is necessary to give the stallion his best chance, but he should not need to. Travelling stallions was once a way of life but in the modern transport age not so necessary. Sir Fleet has had a good season, leaving 13 individual winners of more than $230,000 until the end of June, placing him in the top 40 sires in the country. Sir Fleet got a good hearing from breeders in his first southern season last year with the success of sons
of Sir Ivor in New Zealand. Sir Fleet is a half brother to the highly successful American sire, King’s Bishop. His dam, Spearfish, won more than SUSIOO,OOO herself and is the dam of three stakes winners, including a classic winner. Sir Fleet’s associate sire is the underrated Silver Blaze which has battled to get the recognition he deserves. The performance of Silver Mask is the latest boost for the son of Hoist the Flag which has an especially good strike rate on winter tracks. Manorshire had the misfortune to lose Rebec earlier this year.
