New producer board laws

The Minister of Agriculture, Mr Moyle, intends to introduce amending legislation later this year to remove “impediments” in producer board acts. He told the dominion conference of Federated Farmers that the Government’s review of producer boards had been completed. The Government supported the retaining of

producer boards with statutory powers, although it would continue to monitor and review the performance of the boards.

Mr Moyle said the amending bill would remove from the producer board acts legislative and administrative impediments which had been identified by the boards and officials.
