Trainer John Heasley will continue to supervise his preparation. Heasley believes the grey will benefit from a warmer environment and less travelling. He said Silver Mask had thrived since his win at Awauni last Saturday. Silver Mask will be ridden by the stable apprentice, Chris O’Brien, in the Paparua Handicap (1400 m on the first day of the National meeting. He will claim an allowance. There is no rehandicap for winning the Paparua. Three Guys is a newcomer to the Heasley stable and yesterday he jumped nine hurdles in the hands of Tane Belsham. Three Guys has been jumping to settle him down. A winner of three races, the most recent of which was at Ascot Park in November, Three Guys is from Ray Pankhurst’s stable, and has not raced since April. Woodville Woodville correspondent Our High Noon and Diamantino galloped boldly at Woodville yesterday morning. They give trainers Wayne and Ann Herbert a strong hand in the Glen Oroua 7000 at the Rangitikei Hunt meeting tomorrow. Fast work took place on the outside of the course open, which was relatively dry for this time of the year. Our High Noon and Diamantino were travelling well at the end of 800 metres in 50.6 seconds, the final 600 m in 375. Our High Noon was the beaten favourite at Te Awamutu last week r bUt must rate highly tomorrow. Noel Harris rides him, while Phillip Mercer will ride Diamantino, which beat Satisfy easily in the C2 race at the EgmontWanganui Hunt meeting earlier in the month.
