Computer system now off sale list
Wellington reporter The Government is withdrawing the Tourist and Publicity Department’s computerised travel system, TRAITS, from sale, the Minister of Tourism, Mr Hunt, said. Difficulty establishing ownership of the copyright for the TRAITS software was given as the reason for the withdrawal, implying the sale could go ahead later. An inter-departmental committee is examining the issue and will report back in mid-September, when further decisions will be made. Other announcements regarding the National Film Unit Communicate New Zealand and NZTP Travel could be expected soon, said Mr Hunt.
