The Leader of the House, Mr Hunt, moved that Parliament take urgency on the Income Tax Amendment Bill (No. 8) when Parliament began sitting yesterday. Urgency was taken, and the House, in committee, resumed debate on the clauses of the bill. The bill was reported with amendments and its third reading was taken immediately. by 45 votes to 32. The House moved on to the third reading of the Liquor Sales Bill. The third reading was discharged from the Order Paper and the bill was recommitted. The House went into committee to consider the clauses to which amendments had been proposed. Debate on proposed amendments to the bill was interrupted when the House rose at 10.30 p.m.
