Reporting to the Principal, the Bursar is responsible for the management of the administrative, purchasing, financial and maintenance aspects of College House. Specific tasks include the preparation of monthly and annual accounts, the supervision of a variety of accounting/administrative activities, the arranging of investments, liaising with contractors for maintenance work, supervising grounds upkeep, and acting as secretary to the Board. As part of a small management team, you will also on occasions be required to deputise for the Principal in management matters. Applicants should be qualified or partly qualified accountants who have had exposure to the business community. Appropriate age range is probably 40 to early 50’s. You should also be computer literate. A pleasant personality, ability to relate to students, an empathy with the College’s function, as well as an ability to fit in with and contribute in a small team situation, are other important factors. A genuine Kiwi “handyman” outlook would also be of value. This position offers a pleasant working environment with good job stability.
