Addington market Record price set

A record price was set at Addington market yesterday when a steer sold for $l9OO. The six-year-old steer, owned by Mr Keith Reilly, of Orari, was from a Hereford Friesian-cross cow and a Simmental bull. It beat the previous record by $3O. Mr Reilly sold another steer at $l3lO. Mr J. D. Roberts, of Methven, sold a Charolais-cross steer at $l7OO. In spite of the new record price, cattle values levelled off this week, ending a steady climb for the last month. Lamb prices also remained at last week’s levels although a few exceptional sales reached $47. Prime lambs Lamb prices continued to reach the high levels of recent weeks, although the tone of the market was a little easier.
