By MARCIA STEWART and ESTELLE STOCKDILL BASIC SCONE RECIPE 1 cup flour y 4 teaspoon salt y 3 cup milk 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon butter Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl. Rub in butter until the mixture is like breadcrumbs. Add the milk and mix with a knife to a soft dough. ‘PINWHEELS’ Make up the basic scone recipe. Roll out into
a rectangle Icm thick, Spread with the filling of your choice (see below). Roll up from the wide end. Cut into six pieces. Place outside up on oven tray. Bake 220 deg. C. for 10 minutes. FILLINGS IT melted butter brushed on dough 2T brown sugar cinnamon IT melted butter brushed on dough IT coconut 2T brown sugar Spread dough with marmite, 4T grated cheese, finely chopped onion.
