N.Z.’s first Master of Wine
NZPA London Mr Michael Brajkovic has become the first New Zealander and only the second Australasian to be made a Master of Wine.
He joins an exclusive list of fewer than 150 people worldwide to have gained the title regarded as the highest honour in the wine trade.
Mr Brajkovich works as a winemaker in his family’s Kumeu River vineyard, near Auckland. He was top pupil of South Australia’s Roseworthy Agricultural College in 1981, adding prizes for viticulture and sensory evaluation to his Bachelor of Applied Science in Oenology (the study of wines).
