Opio valuation up
The Opio Forestry Fund’ forests increased in valuation from $932,276 to $946,477 in the year ended March 31. The trustee reports that generally health and growth rates were good, but the forest auditor, P. E. Olsen, and Company, of Rotorua, notes significant livestock damage in the 1985 plantings; stocking variations; growth variability in some areas below the Southland average; and evidence of topple top damage and snow break. Total fixed assets were up slightly at $1,223,477, but current assets were down more than $42,000 and unitholders’ equity per unit issued was steady at 108 c.
