Sheene blots copybook
By
JOHN HAWKINS
The former world champion motor-cycle racer turned TV commentator, Barry Sheene, blotted his copybook somewhat with a crash during a test session in Peter Brock’s Mobil One Group A Sierra at Winton recently. The tests were being conducted to evaluate possible drivers for Brock’s team in the forthcoming Australian long-distance races. The prang damaged Sheene’s aspirations as much as the car, because the sought-after drive was awarded to the Formula Ford front runner, Mark Larkham. Sheene, who suffered multiple injuries during his two-wheeled racing career, suffered two cracked ribs in the latest accident.
