Black Birch
Sir,—ln attempting to refute my statements about the American Black Birch . station near Blenheim, M. ' Johnston has confused the Waihopai and Black Birch installations (July 4). To support his position on Black Birch he cited a letter by W. Thomson about the “spy station” at Waihopai. If this debate is to continue, Mr Johnston should make some effort to become better informed. I would be happy to send him documents, some published by the United States Navy, if he would like to learn about the Black Birch Observatory.—Yours, etc., ROBERT L. LEONARD. July 5, 1989.
