How to hide in N.Z. —book
PA Auckland A book offering details of how to assume new identities in a number of countries, including New Zealand, is apparently on sale in the United States. The book, “Paper Tripping Overseas,” has a whole chapter on how to “become a new person” in New Zealand. Mr Alec Corban, of Auckland, said he was shocked to see copies of the book on sale at a military collectors’ show near Anaheim, California, while he was on holiday recently. “I felt annoyed and disgusted,” Mr Corban said. “For someone to actually come to New Zealand and write a book like this and make money ... That causes me great concern.” As well as 24-page New Zealand chapter there were sections on Australia, Canada and Britain. The book’s author, Tony Newborn, claimed he had travelled to each country to . put his prescribed methods into practice and assured readers they did, indeed, work. The book spelled out methods of obtaining false passports > and driver’s licences. A “general techniques and information” chapter includes details on how to obtain credit cards, vehicle registration papers, mail addresses, bank accounts — even how to file a tax return.
