Mrs Elvie Silcock, of Christchurch, works on crocheting another rug for charity in her home yesterday. Mrs Silcock is one of a team of volunteers making rugs, mittens, jerseys, booties, socks, hats and scarves for the needy. The project is organised by the “Wool Lady,” Mrs Maureen Haynes. Mrs Haynes is asking people to leave surplus wool at branches of Trust Bank Canterbury during the next fortnight. Volunteers working for Securitas will collect the wool and deliver it to Mrs Haynes.
