Tax on students

Sir, —If the Government is determined to go ahead with its plan to make students pay for part of the cost of their education, surely justice demands that retrospective legislation should be passed requiring all New Zealand graduates who are gainfully employed to make similar repayments. First in line, of course, would be Messrs Lange, Palmer, Caygill and Cullen. — Yours, etc., ALAN CONWAY. June 25, 1989.
