IBM 486
IBM has announced an upgrade for its PS/2 Model 70-A2l microcomputer that uses the Intel i 486 microprocessor. It will be released on the market as soon as IBM can obtain sufficient i 486 chips.
IBM says the 486/25 Power Platform will make the PS/2 Model 70 up to twice as fast as a 33MHz 386 microcomputer with a maths coprocessor.
The platform will sell in America for about SUS4OOO (SNZ6BOO), which suggests a New Zealand price of $9OOO to $lO,OOO.
