The Redcliffs school shield means: The moa is because of the moa bones found in the school area and cave beside the school. The four ships remember the early settlers on the first four ships — Seymour, Cressy, Randolph and Charlotte Jane. The cliffs are red and are behind Redcliffs School. The waves; the sea is very close to the school. The cabbage trees were in the area when the school was built.
