Overdue hole-in-one
Shirley Hill, a former women’s champion at the Rawhiti Golf Club, ended a long drought of aces by female members of the club on their home course when she holed-in-one at the short fifteenth. It was the first ace since 1974. Rawhiti women were in the . news recently, however, when the trio of Thora Laurenson, Julie Davidson and Betty Andrews finished runner-up in the New Zealand final of the Spalding club teams’ championship at Wairakei. The winning team was from Wellington.
