Gas heating can help cut costs
Heating is a major contributor to household winter power accounts, but with gas space heating these can be substantially reduced. One of the leaders in gas heating technology, Rinnai New Zealand Ltd, has introduced three new high-efficiency flued heaters, which would be economical replacements for older ineffective units.
"Gas heating is sufficient because it sets up convection currents, moving warm air around, so not just the parts of you closest to the heater get warm, but the whole room,” says the -marketing manager for the company, Mr David Hewitt.
One such fuel-efficient heater is the Rinnai 2001,
an attractive focal point for any home, which is ideal for larger areas such as the lounge or family room. Its powerful fan forces warm air out of the bottom to give all-round warmth, and the advanced one-step ignition and control system provides easy operation and comfort.
Another is the highefficiency REH 300, which utilises the latest advances in gas technology to optimise gas usage. It incorporates a timer to switch the heater on at pre-set times, so you are assured of warmth when you want it. If you forget to set the timer, then the normal/ boost fan switch allows
for quick heat when you come in from the cold. The thermostat control will then maintain the desired heat level. Both the Rinnai 2001 and REH 300 are styled to enhance any decor, and are available as either console or in-built models. The proven popularity of the Galaxie has prompted the introduction of an up-dated model, with improved styling and capability. Combining three heat settings, electronic pushbutton ignition, and a flame-failure device, you are assured of safety, comfort and economy. All models are approved by the Gas Association of New Zealand.
