IEL goes to well again—for $784M
NZPA-AAP , Sydney Industrial Equity, Ltd (lEL) has made a surprise return to international capital markets with a SUS4SOM (SNZ7B4M) raising through a multi-optioned facility launched in Hong Kong. The company raised further funds on
Tuesday through the sale of its 22 per cent stake in the gold miner and minerals explorer, Asarco Australia, Ltd, for sAust23.lM (SNZ3O.4M), and in a separate move bought Yates New Zealand, Ltd, from the statutory managers
of Equiticorp group. 1 lEL’s activity appears unusual, given ■ the launch just three weeks ago of 1 Goodman Fielder Wattie’s controversial ; sAustl.B billion (SNZ2.3 billion) bid for ; the company. ■
