Wreck traps man
A man was trapped in the wreckage of a car for about half an hour after a head-on collision between two vehicles at Motukarara last evening. The Lincoln Fire Brigade was called out to free the man, who was later taken to hospital along with the two other male occupants of the vehicle. A Christchurch St John Ambulance spokesman said the three men were aged between 18 and 30. One suffered moderate back injuries, one suffered moderate general injuries, and the third suffered minor injuries. The other car involved in the crash carried a family of five, none of whom was hurt. The accident occurred about 6 p.m.
