Student exchange programme

A student exchange programme starting in New Zealand this year will give families the chance to host. a Scandinavian student. The Student Travel Service (S.T.S.) is also looking for New Zealand students who would like to travel to Europe or America next year. The New Zealand S.T.S. representative, Mr Owen McDowell, said the organisation was founded in Sweden in 1975, in the belief that international student exchanges promote understanding and good will between nations. The organisation is nonprofit making. S.T.S. is expanding into New Zealand this year, and building up a network of representatives to supervise the students and host families. Host families are sought for 25 Scandinavian high school pupils who have been selected to attend New Zealand schools for 10 months, beginning in term three, in September.
