Brothers disturb burglars
Two brothers arrived at their father’s Woolston house on Monday evening to find a pair of burglars had smashed their way in. A fight developed and the offenders ran off, leaving behind a cassette radio they were in the process of stealing.
“It would appear the offenders came off second best,” Detective SeniorSergeant Colin Dalzell said yesterday. The burglars gained entry to the Randolph Street house by breaking glass panes in the door. One is described as a male Maori, aged about
30, 183 cm (6ft) tall, shoul-der-length black hair, and a moustache. He was wearing a denim jacket and blue jeans. The other is a male European, aged in his early 20s, 173 cm (sft Sin) tall, blond hair, goateetype beard, in blue jeans and a jacket.
