Koala coin sells well
NZPA-AAP Perth The Australian Koala coin sold more than 127,000 ounces in its first six months to become the world’s big-gest-selling platinum coin, Gold Corp Australia said. The Western Australian Government-owned Gold Corp, which markets the coin, said the Koala had captured “well over’’ 50 per cent of the international market since being released in September, 1988. The Koala’s nearest rival, the Canadian Maple Leaf — launched in October, 1988 — had recorded sales of less than 70,0000 z up to March 31, it said.
