Leuluai injured
James Leuluai, the veteran but still very sprightly former Kiwi, will not be in the Wellington rugby league backline against Canterbury at the Addington Show Grounds on Sunday. Just back from a successful season with Wakefield Trinity in the British first division, Leuluai dislocated a shoulder in his first match for Petone last Sunday. Last year Leuluai was the inspiration behind Wellington’s first win over Auckland since 1913, and he filled a major role in Wakefield avoiding relegation after losing the Kiwi forwards, Mark Graham and Brent Todd. Leuluai missed Wellington’s 12-6 loss to Auckland at Carlaw Park on May 7 and is no certain starter for the return game in Wellington on June 3.
