Awapuni ’ Special correspondent Palmerston North Bronze Valley’s last visit to Foxton resulted in a relegation from first to third in the Foxton Fries Cup 12 months ago. The Awapuni galloper will have another attempt on the race tomorrow and a good trial at Awapuni yesterday suggests he could give a good account of himself for David Walsh who was aboard in last year’s controversial race.

Recent racing has improved Bronze Valley and he is not far from his best form so with a soft track likely he shouldn’t be far away. Irish Boe was another to impress yesterday. •
