Schools’ chess contest
Phillip Abrahamson, of Christchurch Boys’ High School, won the Canterbury schools’ chess championship which ended yesterday. Abrahamson took six points from seven games while Andrew Jefferies (Burnside High School) was second with five-and-a-half points. Burnside High School won the teams’ competition.
