S.O.E. committee

PA Wellington The Airways Corporation chairman, Mr Carl Ryan, has been appointed to the State Owned Enterprises steering committee.

The committee, which includes representatives from both the private and public sectors, advises the Minister for State-Owned Enterprises, Mr Rodger, on issues relating to S.O.E.s and privatisation.

A new chairman is being sought after Sir Ronald Trotter’s resignation last year. Mr Ryan joins Jarden Morgan’s managing director, Mr Paul Baines, and consultant, Mr Tim Saunders, as private-sector representatives on the committee. The other committee members are the Treasury industries branch manager, Mr John Chetwin, and the S.O.E. advisory unit head, Mr Peter Donovan.
