A 17-year-old youth was trapped for about half an hour in this car after it crashed into a pole on the Old Main North Road "near the Ashley Meat Works about 7 p.m. on Monday. He suffered serious leg injuries in the crash and was reported to be seriously ill in the Christchurch Hospital intensive care unit yesterday. The police say the car had been stolen.
