Air N.Z. post for Chch man

Mr Gerald Wilson has been appointed southern region manager for Air New Zealand, and will be based in Christchurch. Mr Wilson, aged 50, started work with what was then the National Airways Corporation, 26 years ago. He worked in Dunedin and Auckland before coming to Christchurch nearly 20 years ago for what was to have been a two-year posting as reservations supervisor. He stayed in Christchurch with the airline, and has been sales manager for the last six years. As southern region manager, Mr Wilson will replace Mr Paul Bowe, who will move to Auckland, to become Air New Zealand’s general manager of cargo.

Mr Wilson is a vicepresident of the Canterbury Rugby Football Union. He was the joint coach of the Canterbury representative team, with Tiny Hill and Neil Cornelius, from 1977 to 1981.
