‘The Pajama Game’

A wage dispute between the management and workers in a pyjama factory might seem an unlikely subject for a musical comedy, but in 1954 "The Pajama Game,” with just this as the basis for its plot, opened on Broadway and proved a triumphant success. In 1957 it was transferred to the screen in a Warner Brothers production that starred Doris Day. ' The show, by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, has a memorable score, including such songs as “Hey There," “Small Talk,” “Hernando’s Hideaway,” "Steam Heat,” and “I’m Not At All In Love." "The Pajama Game” is Cashmere High School's major production for this year. It opens this week with a cast of nearly 100 in a new interpretation directed by Lin Clark. Garry Thin is the musical director, and Guntra Hooper has choreographed the dance routines. The season runs from April 21st to 24th. Performances start at 8 p.m. except for Sunday 23rd, which has a 6.30 p.m. start. Bookings can be made at the school (39-129).
