Woman dies of stab wound
PA Gisborne A mother of three died of stab, wounds in a Gisborne house yesterday afternoon, the police said. Late yesterday afternoon a man in his 20s was being treated for stab wounds at Gisborne Hospital. Detective Senior-Ser-geant Steve Shortland said the police were treating the death as a domesticrelated homicide. The names of the two people
were withheld until next of kin were informed. St John Ambulance staff answered a traced phone call for assistance just before 2 p.m. The body of the woman, aged 22, was found in a hallway and the police were called. The police said they believed the injured man made the 111 call. Two of the woman’s children, both infants, were in the house at the time asleep, the third was at school.
