Stolen cheques cashed

The police are seeking a woman who cashed stolen travellers cheques in Christchurch on Monday. She cashed one $3OO cheque and three $5O cheques at the Parkroyal Hotel, using the bigger one to pay for accommodation.

Two $5O cheques were later cashed at the Apollo Motel, Papanui Road. The woman is described as a European, about 30, of medium build with straight, shoulder-length hair. She is about 175 cm tall, has a pale, sallow complexion and discoloured teeth. She was wearing an imitation fur coat and had several rings on her fingers. The police believe she is with three men and may be travelling in a Mark 3 Cortina.
