Hick ‘best buy’
NZPA-AAP Brisbane; Queensland’s most volatile cricket import, lan Bot-’ ham, yesterday rated the state’s replacement acquisi-. tion, Graeme Hick, as "the best buy in the world.” i “I’ve been lucky enough in my life to play alongside two truly great batsmen — Viv Richards and now. Graeme Hick — when they were developing at the age of 21 and 22,” Botham said. “Hick is the only player who compares with Viv at his age. I think he will be the best batsman in the world in one or two years." It now seems only a formality for the Zimbabweanborn batsman to sign a one-season contract to play with Queensland. Hick, aged 22, has scored 40 first-class centuries, a feat which even eluded the great Sir Donald Bradman at the same age.
