Indian golfer star
PA Auckland Golfer Nonita Lail, who has played for India in the last seven Queen Sirikit Cup contests, was the individual star of a pre-tournament invitation event at the North Shore Golf Club yesterday. She shot a two-over 74 as the players from 12 countries joined local amateurs in the equivalent of a pro-am. New Zealand made by far the best showing of the competing teams. Sheree Higgens, of Hamilton, shot 75, Jan Higgins, of Auckland, 76 and Tracey Hanson, of Wellington, 77. In the cup event, which begins tomorrow, the best two scores in each of three medal rounds will count. • Inside sport: 32, 33
