F I TO: The People of Christchurch FROM: Greg Lee, General Manager, Parkroyal Christchurch RE: OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE HOTEL, FRIDAY, APRIL 7th Thank you to everyone in Christchurch who has patronised the Parkroyal since its opening in early October last year. I am grateful for the many appreciative telephone calls, letters and comments received and wish to thank you for your tremendous support which has contributed to the hotel’s success. Together we have created something we can all be very proud of. The Official Opening of a hotel is nearly always six or seven months after the doors first open, to ensure that everything is running smoothly. In keeping with this tradition, on Friday, April 7th, the Parkroyal Christchurch will be officially opened by the Prime Minister, the Right Honourable David Lange. During the following week (Monday, April 10th - Sunday, April 16th) we will have special celebrations for the people of Christchurch; Japanese Cooking classes, Art and Craft displays, fashion parades, children’s concerts and as a finale to the week, a tea dance in the Atrium. Watch this paper for details; we want you to join in and share our celebrations. To maximise the impact of our opening we are inviting senior travel industry and media people from far afield, (as well as local Civic leaders) to a variety of functions. Our aim is to confirm the Parkroyal’s high standing as an international hotel and to encourage visitors to Christchurch. However, I must ask for your kind co-operation on one point. In order to do this, all our facilities are fully booked on Friday, April 7th. Regrettably, it would be impossible to invite everyone. Thank you for helping us in achieving our objective. ’ Remember: On Friday, April 7th the Parkroyal Christchurch is fully booked for normal business. Official guests will be admitted by entry card. c Greg Lee, General Manager Mg PARKROYAL 88l CHRISTCHURCH Cnr Kilmore and Durham Street, P.O. Box 1544, Christchurch, New Zealand. Fax (03) 650-082.
