A glimpse of Venice, one of many paintings by the English artist Glynn Boyd Harte reproduced in a new book, “Glynn Boyd Harte’s Venice” (Hamish Hamilton, 156 pp., $64.95). The paintings are accompanied by a text in which the artist’s experiences of Venice over 20 years are condensed into one fantasy day from dawn to dusk. The result is an intensely personal evocation of the beauties of Venice.
